Nazar Melnikov is probably the youngest and most popular DIRECTOR of an agricultural enterprise in Belarus. He became famous thanks to short but bright videos on Instagram, in which he tastefully shows his everyday life. Who are the Kamori? Why do they breed Angus bulls on the farm? What is being built for tourists? The BELTA film crew went to visit and found out everything. - In my life, I have tried a huge number of areas of activity. One fine evening, I was invited to a project related to agriculture. At first, I was skeptical about this offer. But when I tried
it, I realized that this is the place where I should be. I have never experienced such a level of recognition and a feeling of being needed in any other area.
I have 11 years of education, and my family has never had a dacha or a house in the village. Therefore, knowledge of the land or some kind of specialized education is not about me. In the process, we studied the product itself, the activity and found innovative methods for business development.
88 hectares of land, where blackcurrant, honeysuckle and blueberry plantations are planted. We are currently building greenhouses for garden strawberries. We also have
a farm where Angus bulls are currently kept. This is marbled
beef , but we keep them for decoration as the main participants of our petting zoo, which we will soon open. We also have Pakistani Kamori goats. We are probably the only real breeder of them in Belarus.
Long-eared goats - I have a Kamori goat in my arms, he is literally two weeks old now. His name is Archie, our subscribers gave him the name.
Kamori goats are distinguished by their high
MILK yield. They give more than 8 liters of milk per day. And, of course, their distinctive feature is their long ears. The animals are extremely sociable, friendly to humans. Very calm and even almost uncommunicative - if I had an ordinary goat in my arms, he would bleat incessantly. I think we have the largest herd of Kamori goats in one area in Belarus - 8 pieces.
Bull riding - These are Aberdeen Angus bulls and cows. They differ from the classic black-and-white cows in
MEAT, when properly fattened, it becomes marbled. But we do not care much about this. The exterior is more important, because they are exclusively entertaining objects for visitors. Therefore, it is important for us that they are black and beautiful, with silky wool.
We are planning bull riding. Now specialists are already working on this. The process is a little more difficult than expected, because we were already planning to give rides to people. But, I think, in a couple of months, such an entertaining event will be available to residents of the capital and beyond.
In general, they are considered one of the most obstinate breeds of bulls and cows. But I have not noticed this yet. If you give them affection and care, they become absolutely domesticated, almost like dogs.
Every third message - I started it, probably, for the soul. I realized that it works. I wanted to share with people unusual work days - probably not every director has them. And certainly not every Belarusian. I still wanted to show people that it is good and even fashionable to live in the village. It is unity with nature, a return to the roots, calm. It is already a scientific fact that contact with animals and nature reduces the risks of a huge number of diseases.
Now we are in the process of building an agro-estate. Every third message is a question: "How can I visit you? How can I come to you? Is there a tourist destination?" Actually, this is how we started organizing it.
