September 13, MINSK. "Belgospischeprom" seeks to process at least 80% of domestic raw materials. This was stated by Elena Andreyeva, Deputy HEAD of the SUGAR, Canning and Yeast Industries Department of the Concern's Food Production Department, BelTA has learned.

“We work with more than 35 crops of domestic production. However, in connection with the demands of consumers, we are starting to work with raw materials that do not grow in Belarus - mango, banana, prunes. These are the types of raw materials that are in demand on the market in a processed form, especially for children under the age of 3. We solve the issues of raw material supply for the canning industry of Belarus by increasing the production of domestic products, as well as by developing new types of raw materials.So, we started working with gooseberries, sea buckthorn, honeysuckle, chokeberry and eggplant. We strive to process at least 80% of domestically produced raw materials",- said Elena Andreeva.

According to her, together with agricultural producers, organizations, farms and farms, the formation of stable resource zones continues. At the same time, long-term mutually beneficial relationships are built with farmers, so that raw materials for processing are supplied with certain quality parameters. In addition, out of 34 organizations involved in the processing of fruit and vegetable products in Belarus, 11 develop their own raw materials zone, growing vegetables and orchards.

“Over the past year and a half, we have mastered the production of nut drinks, the production of various cream soups, the production of toppings, new types of sauces, Belarusian “non-milk” and much more. The compote market is also in demand again. only process organic raw materials, but also produce organic canned products," the specialist added.

In Belarus, the canning industry annually processes about 80-100 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables, said Elena Andreeva. About 40 thousand tons are vegetables, and fruits and berries - 60 thousand tons. In addition to canning, the wine industry is also engaged in the processing of fruits and berries. About 25-28% of domestic canned food production is exported.
