February 17, MINSK. In 2021, Belarus supplied dairy products to 55 countries of the world. This was announced today by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Igor Brylo at the international sectoral "Belarus is agrarian. Dairy farm", BelTA has learned.
"We have sufficient resources to meet the needs of the domestic market, as well as to EXPORT products. This is confirmed by the results of exports over the past 5 years. Compared to 2016, in 2021, the volume of exports of dairy products in value terms increased by 47% (by $ 860 million ) Over the past year, the export of MILK and dairy products amounted to $2.7 billion, or 111.6% compared to 2020,” said Igor Brylo.
The most capacious export product is cheese, it occupies 44.3% of the total export of dairy products. The second and third positions are occupied by butter and whole milk products, followed by skimmed milk powder , whole milk powder and other dairy products. "Belarus exported dairy products in 2021 to 55 countries of the world, while the list of developed countries was replenished with new markets, such as Kuwait (skimmed milk powder), Zambia (skimmed milk powder and whole milk), Antigua (cheeses). The largest supplies of dairy products fell on the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and CHINA," the minister said.
According to the European Commission, Belarus maintains its position as a leading exporter of dairy products and ranks 3rd in the export of butter, whey powder, 4th in the export of cheese and 5th in the export of skimmed milk powder."By 2025, the growth rate of production of milk and dairy products is projected at the level of 124.4% by 2019, including cheese - 122.1%, butter - 110.5%, whole milk products - 122.2% and canned milk - 158.9%," added Igor Brylo.
According to him, the planned increase in the production of milk and dairy products will ensure further maintenance of the country's food security and increase exports.
The international branch forum "Belarus is agrarian. Dairy farm" takes place today in Minsk. The event is dedicated to the technology of milk production. Experts from zootechnics, fodder production, veterinary medicine, breeding, representatives of the committees on agriculture and food, dairy plants, SECs are invited to the forum.
There will also be honoring the best farms and awarding the winners with the Extra Class Dairy Farm award.
