October 9, MINSK. Belarus expects a multiple increase in food supplies to the Primorsky Territory of RUSSIA. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Alexei Bogdanov on the air of the YouTube channel Glavny. Tour, BelTA has learned.

The Deputy Minister has recently returned from Vladivostok, where the festival "Days of the Republic of Belarus in the Primorsky Territory" is held during the week. On the main square of Vladivostok, utility, agricultural and construction equipment of machine-building plants was put up. A cultural program and sports events were organized. Food producers also offered their products to residents and guests of the city.

Aleksey Bogdanov said that 11 domestic enterprises presented food products, including confectionery, MILK processing, and MEAT processing plants. "Every day there are long queues for our products. Even despite the fact that it was weekdays, there were queues. Today they are afraid (trade continues on the weekend of October 9-10 - approx. BelTA) that there will be enough products," the deputy minister said.

The emphasis during such events is on product tasting, so that potential buyers first try, and then determine their preferences, and subsequently look for relevant products in stores.

Aleksey Bogdanov noted that deliveries to the Primorsky Territory are beneficial for Belarus, despite the large transport distance. Moreover, for several years now domestic products have been supplied to other Far Eastern regions, including Sakhalin and Kamchatka.

According to Aleksey Bogdanov, a business forum was held on the sidelines of the event in Vladivostok, and there is a great interest of retail chains in increasing the supply of Belarusian products. “Additional negotiations were held to increase the range of products supplied. We already see today that the volume of our deliveries to this Far Eastern region will grow many times over. Because the residents of Vladivostok really liked the products,” he said.

The Deputy Minister gave concrete figures. Last year, according to statistics, Belarusian food was delivered to Primorye in the amount of $2.1 million. Compared to 2019, this was an increase of 63%. In the current year, according to the results of 8 months, deliveries increased by 34%, they have already traded for $2 million.

Aleksey Bogdanov said that sometimes even a situation arises when domestic enterprises cannot satisfy all requests and sharply increase the volume of deliveries. "There is simply not enough products. At many enterprises in the dairy and meat industries, products have been sold a month in advance - pre-orders. And today we are faced with the task of increasing the production of raw materials. Accordingly, we will be able to increase both production volumes and supplies of finished products," he said. .
