Dairy production is developing most dynamically in the Belarusian agricultural sector; in the next five years, the volume of production in this segment is planned to be increased to 9.2 million tons.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Alexei Bogdanov at a press conference in MINSK.

“In the next five years, we plan to ensure an increase in raw milk in the amount of about 1 million tons and reach the figure of 9.2 million by 2025. Let me remind you that last year there were 7.8 million tons,” Bogdanov said.

“The share of the dairy industry in the total EXPORT of Belarusian food is very high, amounting to $2.4 billion last year. In second place is MEAT and meat products - almost a billion dollars," the deputy minister said.

Meat production is also planned to increase - up to 1.4 million tons by 2025 (last year it was 1.27 million).

The third most important group of goods is crop products, the specialist continued. The annual export volume is more than $600 million.

As Bogdanov said earlier, in January-September 2021, Belarusian food exports increased by 12.6%, exceeding $4.7 billion. Foreign exchange earnings increased by $529 million over 9 months.
