April 26, MINSK. Belarus plans to increase food exports to $8 billion by 2025. This was announced to journalists at the VI International Forum "Meat Belarus" by the Minister of Agriculture and Food

"Since 1995, thanks to modernization, we have managed to increase MILK production by 1.5 times, and MEAT production - in fact, by 2 times. Today, we have fully provided the market with food, and our enterprises operate stably. Our production line includes more than 1.5 thousand products. dairy products and more than 1,000 meat products. Last year, the EXPORT of Belarusian products amounted to $6.7 billion.

He also said that this year, following the results of two months, products worth $1 billion have already been exported. According to him, this gives us the prerequisites for Belarus to cross the threshold of $7 billion by the end of this year.

"At the end of 2021, our country was in 36th place out of 113 countries of the world according to the global food security index. Nevertheless, we continue to grow and move forward. We want to bring our agro-industrial complex to a new level of development. In this five-year period, we plan to increase agricultural production by 14%, and to produce 9.2 million tons of milk and 2.1 tons of meat in 2025. And bring the export of products to the level of $8 billion," Igor Brylo said.
