Belarus and RUSSIA will launch a joint project in animal husbandry "Breeding Aggregator: Digital Platform for Large-Scale Cattle Breeding", BELTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus following a working meeting between Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuri Gorlov and Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut on the sidelines of the international exhibition of achievements of the agro-industrial complex "All-Russian Field Day - 2025" in Volgograd.
An agreement was also reached to expand scientific and practical cooperation between Belarusian and Russian scientific organizations in the field of livestock breeding.
At the regional level, cooperation in the field of selection and seed production is actively developing. The Republican Unitary Enterprise "Belsemena" handed over samples of corn hybrids and potato varieties of Belarusian selection for laying out demonstration fields in the Udmurt Republic, Sakhalin, Astrakhan, Leningrad regions, as well as in the Altai Territory and other regions of Russia.
In addition, the parties discussed the implementation of the action plan for the implementation of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2024-2026. The development of supranational legal acts continues, including the Union State agreement on agrarian policy and a list of projects aimed at import substitution in agriculture. Other key areas of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in the agro-industrial complex were also discussed, including issues of selection and seed production, development of the dairy market.
"The Russian Federation remains a key trade and economic partner for us. We are grateful for the ongoing assistance and joint work on topical issues of trade and economic cooperation," said Yuri Gorlov. 
By the end of 2024 , trade turnover in food products and agricultural raw materials between the countries increased by 13.4%, and in January-April - by 14.5%, including exports from Belarus increased by 19.2%. During this period, 119.6 thousand tons of MEAT and meat products and more than 1.3 million tons of MILK and dairy products were delivered to Russia.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the agreed forecast balances of the Union State for meat and dairy products, the implementation of which is carried out at an accelerated pace. At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to further expanding bilateral cooperation in all priority areas of agricultural cooperation with full coordination and support of the union structures. The Belarusian side noted the availability of sufficient production capacity to stably provide the Russian market with high-quality products.
