Belarus and Georgia to Develop Cooperation in Breeding Cattle Supplies

Belarus will supply 500 heads of Belarusian-bred pedigree cattle to Georgia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food following talks between Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Natalya Shevtsova and representatives of a large Georgian agricultural holding.

The event was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Georgia Nikolai Rogashchuk and heads of Belarusian agricultural enterprises.

The Georgian company, whose production facilities are located in the village of Sartichala in the Gardabani Municipality, specializes in growing table grapes, breeding cattle, and cultivating grain crops. At the initiative of the Belarusian Embassy in Georgia, an agreement was concluded last year between the Georgian company and the Belplemzhivobedinenie on the supply of cattle

"As of today, 300 heads of Aberdeen Angus heifers have already been delivered to Georgia. Within the framework of the agreements reached, it is planned to deliver another 500 heads of Belarusian-bred breeding cattle by the end of this year," the press service said.

The Belarusian side confirmed its readiness to continue cooperation in the supply of breeding products in order to improve the breed and productive qualities of agricultural animals in Georgia. In turn, the Georgian partners expressed interest in purchasing Belarusian seeds of grain, industrial and forage crops.

The meeting participants noted the positive dynamics of bilateral trade. According to data for January-May 2025, the turnover of food products and agricultural raw materials between the countries amounted to 107.8% of the same period in 2024 , with an increase in exports of 9.8%.

The basis of Belarusian exports to Georgia is dairy products ( MILK , cream, condensed milk, cheeses , butter ,cottage cheese ,ice cream ), MEAT products ( beef , poultry by-products, sausages), grain, legumes,fish and fish products, as well as water and alcoholic beverages.

Belarusian processing plants are actively working to promote their products on the Georgian market, strengthening existing contracts and building contacts with new partners.
