Livestock enterprises of the Kuban are fully provided with animal feed

The provision of the livestock industry with compound feed, as well as the dynamics of prices for these products and measures to stabilize them were discussed at a meeting in the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA

The event was attended by representatives of industry unions and businesses, as well as heads of regional agricultural authorities, including the Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Krasnodar Territory Fyodor Dereka.

As First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov noted at the meeting, in 2020, the production of domestic compound feed increased by 1.3% and reached 30.8 million tons, including for pig breeding - by 5%, for cattle - by 8, 7%.

At the same time, the rise in prices for raw materials and components for these products requires special attention. The introduction of a quota and duties on the EXPORT of grain, as well as a duty on the export of sunflower, rapeseed and soybeans, is aimed at resolving this issue. In addition, the directions of preferential short-term lending have been expanded in terms of the purchase of grain, vitamins and meal for feed purposes.

As Fedor Dereka commented on the results of the meeting, in the Krasnodar Territory the potential for the production of feed in all forms of management is more than 1.8 million tons. There are more than 100 compound feed formulas for farm animals and birds of all kinds and ages in the region.

- Last year, the region produced about 1.1 million tons of feed. This is enough not only to meet the needs of the livestock enterprises of the Kuban, but also to send to other regions of the country, - the minister emphasized.

Fedor Dereka added that since the beginning of 2021, the actual volume of feed production in the region has amounted to about 90 thousand tons.
