SOUTH KOREA is heavily dependent on Brazilian poultry imports - 80% of total imports come from Brazil. But many consumers are not aware of this. Starting in the last week of July, the Brazilian Animal Breeders Association (ABPA) wants to highlight the importance of Brazilian poultry MEAT in the South Korean market with an advertising campaign to be shown on the screens of subway stations and bus terminals in Seoul.
According to ABPA, 362 promotional items will be placed, which, according to the Brazilian embassy, is the largest branding campaign ever for a Brazilian product in the South Korean market.
Last year, South Korea imported 127,400 tons of Brazilian poultry worth $200 million. In 2021, the Asian country has been hit by multiple outbreaks of bird flu, limiting domestic production and boosting imports.
