From June 24, 2021, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance introduces temporary restrictions on the supply of feed and feed additives from all enterprises of the Republic of Latvia
This decision was made by the department based on the unsatisfactory results of the inspection conducted by ROSSELKHOZNADZOR specialists from June 10 to June 15, 2021 in order to confirm the guarantees previously issued by the Latvian Veterinary Service on the compliance of Latvian enterprises with the requirements and norms of the EAEU and the Russian Federation.
Based on the results of the work carried out, it was found that the veterinary service of Latvia does not control the enterprises, namely: the absence of inspections of enterprises for their compliance with the requirements of the EAEU and the Russian Federation, insufficient laboratory control of raw materials and products in terms of safety, which does not allow guaranteeing the safety of products (lack of research on the content of nitrates, pesticides, toxic elements, pathogens, heavy metals, mycotoxins, as well as insufficient control over the content of genetically modified organisms (GMOs)).
The issue of lifting the restrictions will be considered after the Latvian side provides materials and comments on all identified violations in full.
