More than 200 metropolitan enterprises provide the country and the city with food. Of these, 27 work in the MEAT processing industry. In 2021, they produced about 95 thousand tons of semi-finished meat products, said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.

“In the capital, 27 enterprises operate in the meat processing industry, which employ over 15 thousand people. In 2021, they produced almost 95 thousand tons of semi-finished meat products, which is 4.6% more than in 2020 and 23% more than in 2019. According to last year's statistics, every eighth ton of sausage is produced in Moscow. So, in 2021, enterprises produced over 307,000 tons of it,” said the Deputy Mayor.

He added that the volume of shipped products of the meat sector in 2021 amounted to about 118 billion rubles, which is almost 13% more than in 2020.

Among the leaders of the city's meat industry are Cherkizovsky Meat Processing Plant, Ostankino Meat Processing Plant, Mikoyanovsky Meat Processing Plant, Dymovskoe Sausage Production and others. 

“To develop and increase the volume of food production in Moscow, there is a wide system of measures to support enterprises. For example, in 2016, the Cherkizovsky meat processing plant was given the status of an industrial complex of the capital, which allowed it to use the saved 82 million rubles to modernize existing and launch new facilities, thus increasing production volume. About 10 thousand tons of products are produced here monthly. Over the past two years alone, the company has invested about 1.2 billion rubles in modernization,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, HEAD of the Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Department. 

In 2020, the Cherkizovsky Meat Processing Plant modernized the workshop for semi-finished products, raw smoked sausages, opened the production lines for minced meat, sausages for frying, cutting sausages. In 2021, the company launched the production of meat snacks, modernized the smoked sausage workshop, the deboning workshop and the boiler room. 

Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin visited the Cherkizovsky meat processing plant and spoke about support measures for food producers. In particular, the city plans to provide funds from the city's Industry and Enterprise Support Fund to subsidize interest rates for replenishment of working capital and for the implementation of development projects.
