Britain has reported a case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), commonly referred to as mad cow disease, in southwestern Cornwall, REUTERS reported citing the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (WOAH) on Monday.

A case of atypical H-type BSE has been confirmed in a 17-year-old local cow at a beef farm, WOAH said in a note, citing information from British authorities.
