In Ugra, on the territory of the city of Nyagan, an outbreak of African swine fever was detected. This was announced on May 11 on his page on the social network VKontakte by the HEAD of the city Ivan Yamashev.

“I want to note right away that African swine fever is absolutely safe for people. The virus only causes economic damage associated with the slaughter of livestock and the disposal of buildings in which animals were kept, ”the mayor of Nyagan explained to fellow countrymen.

The African swine fever virus was detected on May 10, 2022 in one of the private farms of the city. This is one episodic outbreak with laboratory confirmation of the virus.

“Specialists of the Veterinary Center promptly responded to the farmer's statement about the fall of the piglet, took samples and sent them to the laboratory. Work to eliminate the outbreak and prevent the spread of the virus has already begun, and an algorithm of actions has been developed in accordance with the rules,” said Ivan Yamashev.

Today, a fencing of the territory where the dead pig was found has been organized. In this zone, disinfection, alienation of pigs, bloodless slaughter and all further activities will be carried out.

This is the second outbreak of African swine fever in a year. The first took place in November 2021 in the Surgut region on the territory of the Kapsamun private peasant farm. Over 400 pigs were killed there.
