The first stage of the livestock complex of LLC " Berezovskaya farm " of the agro-industrial holding "Tomsky" was built at the end of 2017. The company planned to raise Hereford cattle to produce marbled beef.
As part of the project, the regional government found partners for Berezovskaya Farm LLC in CHINA, but in 2021 they drastically reduced investments and a local businessman volunteered to develop the breeding farm.
The Marble Farm project involved the creation of a pedigree livestock breeding complex for 15 thousand heads with a forage base in the Tomsk and Pervomaisky districts. To do this, the existing asset was leased to one of the subsidiaries of the Lama group of companies, which announced its intention to invest 5 billion rubles in its development.
The continuation of work was a personal initiative of the founder of the holding "Lama" Vladislav Levchugov. In December 2021, he was arrested on suspicion of corruption. By that time, the shareholders had studied the experience of MEAT production in the Voronezh region and Altai. About a billion rubles were spent on the creation of a modern grain complex, the purchase of additional land, machinery and equipment for the feedlot. Last year, it was planned to build a farm in the village of Mazalovo in the Tomsk region for 7.5 thousand units of the future herd. In Berezovka they were going to place a breeding stock.
In November 2022, Levchugov was escorted to Moscow. The plans of the Lama group of companies have changed. Andrey Knorr, Deputy Governor of the Tomsk Region, stated that the previously purchased cattle had been sold, and the project had been suspended. In February, the criminal case of Vladislav Levchugov was submitted for consideration to the Sovetsky District COURT of Tomsk.
