Cherkizovo Group, one of the leading producers of MEAT products in the Russian Federation, plans to increase poultry meat production by 3-5% this year, Maxim Zudin, DIRECTOR of the Group's Poultry Management Management Company, told reporters as part of an event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Petelinka brand. .

“We are increasing our volumes, and this year we will increase the volume of poultry by about 3-5%. And next year we will grow even more,” he said. — Now there are many questions about rising prices, and many people are concerned that everything is becoming more expensive, but in our market economy it is important to increase volumes. We are increasing these volumes inside the market, and exports are also going quite well.” At the same time, he noted that special attention is paid to the peculiarities of consumption when exporting. “Many people buy paws, this is such a shortage that they are simply torn off with their hands. And our quality department makes sure that there are no burns on the paws, that the chicken walks smoothly, because these paws are important, ”he said.

Zudin also confirmed previously announced plans to launch the Altai Broiler poultry farm on October 15, which was hit by a fire this year. “The birds have already been planted, the eggs have been brought in, everything has started to work in terms of rearing, there are two weeks left before the start of the main production,” he said. “We really hope everything goes according to plan.” Moreover, we continue to build additional poultry houses, and will double production within a year and a half. We will still produce meatballs there.”

Speaking about the agreements between the Ministry of Agriculture and poultry meat producers to establish a price corridor for their products for a certain period, Zudin said that price frameworks are being discussed, “so that it is reasonable to maintain and increase production, and from the point of view of consumer demand.” “We sell our products at fairly comfortable stable prices, we do not use jumps (consumer demand - IF),” he stressed. According to him, the price corridor is possible for a social product - a tender carcass.

According to Oleg Zakov, director of the Cherkizovo trade house, Petelinka currently holds the lead in the Russian branded chicken meat market with a 17.3% share (Nielsen data for August 2021). At the same time, he recalled that the brand is premium. “We are focusing more on local markets so as not to lose freshness, where the consumer is ready to pay a premium for quality and beauty,” Zakov said. He also said that the brand's share in the group's poultry products is 22%.

The Cherkizovo Group unites seven complexes for the production of chicken meat (as well as the production complex of Belaya Ptitsa, used on a lease basis), 16 pig farms, five meat processing enterprises (including Samson Foodstuffs), two slaughter lines, nine feed mills factories, 12 elevators, a land bank with an area of 300,000 hectares and a full-cycle turkey production complex in Tambov.
