Orelstat published a report on the state of livestock production in the region for January and February 2023. By March 1 this year, there were 128.3 thousand cattle in the region, including 33.9 thousand cows, 1006.4 thousand pigs, 2.8 thousand sheep and 2048 thousand birds. During the year, the number of sheep in the region decreased, and their number on March 1 this year amounted to 78% of the same indicator last year.

In January and February, the region produced 56.8 thousand tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight, 17.9 thousand tons of MILK and 3.7 million eggs. The volume of milk production during this period decreased by 2.2% compared to the previous year.

The average productivity of one cow was 1022 kilograms of milk, which is 4 kilograms less than last year. However, the productivity of cows in 9 districts has increased. The production of MEAT from several types of livestock increased significantly: 24.3% more cattle meat, 77.5% more pork, 11.4% more poultry meat and twice as much sheep meat were produced. The average egg yield per laying hen over the past 2 months of this year was 40 eggs.
