"This year, a new direction has been additionally financed from the regional budget - this is 100 million rubles for the acquisition and increase in the breeding stock of cattle in the course of measures to improve the herd from leukemia," Filonov said.

According to the HEAD of the main department of veterinary medicine of the Omsk region Vladimir Plashchenko, there are 130 disadvantaged points in all regions of the region under quarantine for bovine leukemia. Only 13 agricultural enterprises have a favorable status for this disease. Plaschenko clarified to TASS that in practice, many farms do not carry out measures to combat leukemia in full.

“There are two methods of recovery from leukemia,” the head of the department told TASS. “The first is systematic research , separation and isolated cultivation of healthy young animals, and so on - this technique has long been known. The second option is just a complete one-time replacement of the reacting (infected - approx. TASS) healthy livestock".

Bovine leukemia is an oncological disease of the hematopoietic system. The causative agent is a virus that is transmitted through body fluids and MILK .
