A large-scale food cluster will appear in New Moscow

Since 2022, four clusters have been launched in the capital: photonics and microelectronics, electric vehicle manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and the Federal Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The Moscow government continues to develop a cluster approach in the work of the capital's industrial sector, launching another cluster - food, Vladislav Ovchinsky, HEAD of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, told the editorial board of sfera.fm. 

In particular, as part of the creation of a food cluster, the city will provide 95.9 hectares of land on which, as part of large-scale investment projects, investors will create modern food production facilities. The facilities will produce dairy, confectionery, MEAT and other food products , as well as grow greens and vegetables on vertical farms. The implementation of the projects will create over 11.4 thousand jobs.

According to the Moscow City Property Department, the city has already provided investors with three land plots with an area of ​​almost 63 hectares at a preferential rate to create a food cluster. The lease agreements are concluded for five years, during which entrepreneurs must build production buildings with a total area of ​​over 400 thousand square meters.

For example, the land plot was given to the company "ADM", which will build a modern food industrial technopark, where 3.5 thousand people will be able to find work. it is planned that it will be able to accommodate production of meat products, dairy, confectionery, as well as ready meals for retail chains and restaurants. The concept of the enterprise will allow to place vertical farms for growing leafy greens, herbs, salads, confectionery flowers. "Yadro Vkusa" will build a complex, where producers of dairy, confectionery, bakery products, snacks, food ingredients, semi-finished meat products, canned fruits and vegetables, drinks and packaging containers will be able to work simultaneously. The planned output is 514 thousand tons of products per year. In addition, greens and berries will be grown here . 3 thousand people will be able to find employment there.

Grand Development will build a modern bakery for the production of bread, croissants and puff pastries, including long-term storage. Up to 200 tons of products will be produced here per day. The enterprise will be able to employ 200 people.

In addition, the city plans to provide land plots to two more investors. The ready-made meals production complex will be localized by the RBE company. It will produce semi-finished products of high readiness, food for railway transport, as well as ready-made meals for restaurants, hotels and catering. The planned production volume is 36.5 thousand tons of products per year. Over 900 jobs will be organized at this facility.

One of the leading meat processing plants "OMPK" will build a single distribution center with a portion cutting shop. The center will be able to provide jobs for 1.5 thousand people. Today, the enterprise supplies its products, in addition to Moscow, to about 70 regions of the country, so its work is extremely important for ensuring food security.
