Cherkizovo Group held a round table on the topic “Current Issues in the Development of Russian Exports of MEAT and Dairy Products” for students of the Master’s program “World Agricultural Markets” of the MGIMO School of Business and International Competences. it was attended by the heads of the largest unions and associations of the agro-industrial complex, leading experts of the Russian agricultural market.
Andrey Terekhin, HEAD of the Department of Industry Expertise and EXPORT Development of the Cherkizovo Group, moderated the round table for 1st and 2nd year students of the Master's program. The event was organized in the format of video conferencing and was held within the framework of the training module "Practical issues of organizing the export of Russian agro-industrial products" created by Cherkizovo, which included a course of lectures and practical exercises. Leading experts of the Russian meat industry with experience in foreign economic work were invited to participate in the round table.
During the event, the head of the National Meat Association, Sergei Yushin, noted the special role and importance of export supplies for ensuring the sustainable development of the Russian agro-industrial complex. He drew attention to the fact that the high requirements for food products in force abroad stimulate Russian producers to achieve high standards of quality and safety of their products also for the domestic market. In his opinion, the creation of the institution of agricultural attachés at Russian embassies in more than 50 countries is another tool for promoting Russian products abroad, and their training at MGIMO gives confidence in the success of the developed program.
Artem Daushev, the assistant to the head of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , who is responsible for cooperation with the veterinary services of foreign countries, spoke about the work on organizing the access of Russian agro-industrial complex products to foreign markets . He spoke in detail about the advanced digital technologies widely used by the Russian supervisory authority to ensure the quality and safety of food products supplied for export. Also in his speech, he dwelled on the practice of relations with foreign regulators and considered several specific cases that ensured the opening of foreign markets for Russian livestock products.
Lada Goltsova, head of foreign economic activity of the National Union of Poultry Breeders, spoke about the prospects for the Russian poultry industry and the difficulties in entering foreign markets with this product. She noted the significant success of Russian poultry farmers in establishing the export of poultry meat, thanks to which RUSSIA has become one of the prominent players in the global poultry market, especially in terms of supplies to the CIS countries and the capacious Chinese market . At the same time, Lada Goltsova added, today Russian poultry meat is actively exported to other destinations - Saudi Arabia, African countries, etc.
President of Agrifood Strategies Albert Davleev spoke about the significant export potential of domestic products from turkey meat. He noted the competitive advantages of Russian manufacturers, including in the promising markets of the Middle East and Africa. In this regard, Albert Davleev dwelled in detail on the certification system and the possibilities of producing turkey meat in the Russian Federation according to halal standards, which opens up new opportunities for expanding its supplies, in particular to the Muslim countries of Southeast Asia.
The executive DIRECTOR of the Rincon Management agency, Konstantin Korneev, in his speech spoke about the importance of marketing for the development of export supplies of meat and dairy products. He paid special attention to the need to take into account the specific requirements of regulatory authorities in different countries, as well as local customs, traditions and culinary preferences of the population.
