The production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight increased by 10.8% - up to 9.7 thousand tons in the Kaliningrad region in January 2023 (compared to January 2022). The growth in MILK production was not so significant - 3.3%, for the first month in the westernmost region of RUSSIA, 13.1 thousand tons of milk were produced.
Rosstat also pointed to a 19.3 percent increase in the production of chicken eggs, however, in the interests of the economy of enterprises, the specific number of eggs produced has not yet been announced.
Retail trade turnover in the Kaliningrad region decreased by 4.7% to 19.206 billion rubles. And relative to December 2022, the drop was 18.3%. The turnover of public catering in the region came close to 2 billion rubles - 1.995 billion, which is 18.5% more than in January 2022, but 3.1% less than December data. In terms of public catering turnover, the Kaliningrad region ranks third in the Northwestern Federal District, second only to St. Petersburg (15.5 billion) and the Murmansk region (2.3 billion).
