Chairman of the Veterinary Committee of the Republic of Dagestan Magomed Shapiev reported that 94 slaughterhouses out of 255 existing ones are registered in the Committee's register, with a total capacity of about 465 tons per shift, which corresponds to 10,348 heads of small cattle and 1,035 heads of cattle . The main slaughterhouses are located in 10 districts and cities of the republic.

However, in some areas, such as Akushinsky and Laksky, a significant number of livestock remain without slaughterhouses. Shaikhgasanov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan, noted that the Ministry of Agriculture sent a request to municipal districts for the availability of slaughterhouses.

In 2024 , the slaughter of 2.8 thousand heads of cattle and 5.63 thousand heads of small cattle was recorded. State support funds were allocated for three enterprises. Since 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture has been working to support slaughterhouses. In 2025, it is planned to launch two new slaughterhouses in the village of Orta-Stal. Mini-shops are also being built in the republic at the expense of farmers' own funds.
