According to statistics, the average cost of 1 kg of lamb in Dagestan as of July 22, 2024 is 731.6 rubles.

The price of lamb in Dagestan has increased by approximately 22% in six months, the editorial board of RBC Caucasus was told in the Department of Trade and Consumer Markets under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Dagestan, citing Rosstat data.

“It cannot be said that lamb has become much more expensive since last year, for example, by 2 or more times. The increase in MEAT prices , according to Rosstat, is approximately 22-23% compared to the beginning of the year,” said Eldar Aliyev, HEAD of the Trade Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Dagestan.

According to statistics, the average cost of 1 kg of lamb in Dagestan as of July 22, 2024 is 731.6 rubles. In January 2024, meat was sold in the republic on average at 603.5 rubles per kilogram. The highest price was recorded in Makhachkala — 655 rubles per 1 kg.

Eldar Aliyev commented on the rise in prices for lamb and other products. "It is necessary to take into account the monthly inflation according to the Central Bank, which currently stands at 8.6%. Therefore, I cannot say that there is some kind of exorbitant price increase in Dagestan," noted the head of the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade's trade department.

Earlier, RBC Caucasus reported that the average cost of lamb in the North Caucasus Federal District is 737.9 rubles. The lowest average price in the North Caucasus Federal District was recorded in Ingushetia — 687.6 rubles per 1 kg.
