Milk yield rose by 0.2% to 32.3 million tons from 32.2 million tons a year earlier. Egg production remained at the level of 2020 - 44.9 billion pieces.

The number of cattle in farms of all categories amounted to 17.7 million heads against 18 million heads a year earlier, including cows - 7.7 million heads against 7.9 million heads, respectively. The number of pigs increased to 26.2 million heads from 25.9 million heads, sheep and goats - decreased to 20.9 million heads from 21.7 million heads, poultry - increased to 536.9 million heads from 519.8 million heads.

Rosstat also reported that agricultural enterprises produced 12.2 million tons of livestock and poultry (in live weight) last year, which is 1% more than a year earlier (12.1 million tons). Milk yield increased by 1.5% to 18.1 million tons from 17.9 million tons. Egg production increased by 0.5% to 36.5 billion from 36.3 billion.
