UPSIDE Foods Receives USDA Approval for Cultured Chicken Labeling

The approved label defines the product as "cage-raised chicken". it is noted that since such MEAT was grown directly from real animal cells, it is subject to the same labeling requirements as meat products produced in the traditional way.

The next step is to obtain a Certificate of Compliance (GOI) for the company's Engineering, Manufacturing and Innovation Center (EPIC), after which the company will be able to establish commercial production and launch its products on the US  market .

As Danil Maklakov, the founder and CEO of the Russian company steMeat, said earlier, the cell meat industry is developing all over the world today. The highest interest in this topic is observed in the usa, Singapore and CHINA. Now there are 156 companies in the world engaged in developments in the cultivation of meat from cells, including companies such as Nestle, Merck KGaA, Mitsubishi, JBS and others. Currently, scientists from the Russian company steMeat continue to refine the technology for the production of meat from animal cells and plan to enter the market with this product in 2025.
