Turkey MEAT production in the Russian Federation in 2023 increased by 1.8% compared to 2022, to 422 thousand tons in slaughter weight. This is data from the consulting agency Agrifood Strategies, which compiled an annual rating of Russian turkey producers based on updated data from turkey farming companies, statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and information from the National Association of Turkey Producers.
In 2023, the leader of domestic turkey farming, Damate Group of Companies, increased its market share to 56% and, due to increased production efficiency and a slight increase in industrial capacity, added 11% of volume - up to 238 thousand tons.
Cherkizovo Group of Companies, the second largest producer, reduced production by approximately 30% (to 57 thousand tons) due to the transfer of part of the assets of Krasnobor, purchased in 2021, to growing broilers. As a result, its market share decreased by about a third - to 14%.
Assets of the former BPK im. M. Gafuri" in Bashkiria passed to a new owner - SoyuzPromPtitsa LLC, which took over production from the Ural PC, which had rented it for the last two years. Product production did not stop. The total volume at the end of the year increased by 15% - to 26.2 thousand tons.
The top five leaders in turkey production also included GC Ruskom (20.6 thousand tons) and Agro Plus (10.7 thousand tons).
The share of turkey in the total volume of poultry meat production in the Russian Federation is 8%.
