The Tashlinskaya breed of sheep was bred in the Stavropol Territory when the need arose for the development of MEAT and wool livestock. These animals are distinguished not only by a high yield of high-quality meat, but also by excellent semi-fine wool.
- Over the past ten years, three breeds of sheep have been bred in the region. Tashlinskaya is one of them. In breeding work, special emphasis was placed on precocity and high meat qualities - the meat of Tashli sheep is similar to marbled beef due to the distribution of fat inside the muscle fibers, while the young are quickly gaining weight. Already by 9 months, the content of meat and bones in the carcass is about 80% and 20%, respectively, - said Alexei Krisan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
One of the enterprises that breeds Tashlin sheep in the Stavropol Territory is Argonavt LLC from the Grachevsky District, which last year received the status of a gene pool farm for breeding this breed.
- An additional bonus to a good yield of meat from this breed is high-quality semi-fine wool. For a year, up to 7 kilograms of raw materials can be removed from each adult male, and from 4 to 5 kilograms from a ewe. In addition, the queens have high productivity: in the first lamb they bring one lamb, in the next - two or three, - said Gadzhimurad Ibragimov, DIRECTOR of Argonaut LLC.
Before the lambing campaign in 2021, the number of herds in Argonaut LLC consisted of 654 heads, of which 430 sheep are breeding stock. After lambing, the farm has replenishment and good prospects for the sale of meat: for example, if in 2019 Argonaut LLC sold 23 tons of meat in live weight, then in 2020 it will already be 29 tons. The company also increased the indicators for wool shearing: from 2.28 tons in 2019 to 2.68 tons in 2020. As for the breeding stock, in 2020, 376 heads were sold here, this year - already about 130.
The achievements of the Stavropol enterprise in the field of sheep breeding were noted at the XXI All-Russian exhibition of breeding sheep and goats, which was held in the Stavropol Territory in May. The breeding stock of Argonaut LLC was recognized as the best among the Tashli breed.
- As a gene pool farm, by the way, the only one in the Grachevsky District, LLC "Argonaut" can apply for state support. In addition, last year the company received a subsidy to reimburse part of the cost of supporting the production of fine and semi-fine wool in the amount of 438.3 thousand rubles, - said Alexei Krisan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
In 2021, about 100 million rubles are provided in the budget for state support for the production of fine and semi-fine wool. In addition, a new type of support has been operating in the region since this year - a subsidy for the production and sale of sheep and goats for slaughter: 18 million rubles have been allocated in the budget for this purpose.
- By 2025, the region faces the task of increasing the number of sheep in agricultural enterprises and farms to 1.2 million heads, increasing wool production to 7 thousand tons, and meat - up to 31 thousand tons per year. In these matters, we especially rely on our breeding enterprises, - stressed the acting. Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Sitnikov.
