Tambov region: The enterprise of Pervomaisky district increased the production of turkey meat

According to the results of the first half of the year, Tambov Turkey increased MEAT production by 3.5% compared to the same period last year. Acting HEAD of the administration of the Tambov region Maxim Egorov considers the growth in poultry meat production to be an important contribution of the region to the country's food security.

In the first half of 2022, the Tambov region increased the production of poultry for slaughter in live weight. Over 190 thousand tons of meat were produced in all categories of farms in the region. This is 14% more than the same period last year.

In the structure of all types of meat produced in agricultural enterprises of the region, this category exceeds 60%. The share in the all-Russian production of poultry meat is 6%.

- Our region is in the top three leaders of the Central Federal District in the production of poultry meat. We fully meet our own needs for chicken and turkey meat, and also feed other regions. The products of Tambov poultry farms are also exported. I am sure that the Tambov region has a leadership potential in the production of meat, which is in the greatest demand among the population, - said Maxim Egorov.

Tambovskaya Turkey is increasing its volumes by increasing its capacities. In the summer of 2020, the company opened the second stage, last year it commissioned four production sites. From 2017 to 2021, the company doubled its production volumes. In 2022, further growth is expected - from 78 thousand tons to 81.5 thousand tons of poultry meat per year.

- According to the results of the first half of the year, the production of turkey meat increased by 3.5% compared to the same period last year. About two thousand people work at Tambov Turkey. The enterprise is functioning normally, new jobs are being created,” said Nadezhda Kozlova, head of the agriculture and food department of the Pervomaisky District Administration.

Tambovskaya Turkey's products, a roll of turkey breast fillet with vegetables and spices, were awarded a gold medal at the Prodexpo international exhibition held in February in the nomination "Innovations in Convenience of Consumption". In 2021, the enterprise took the second place in the production of turkeys in RUSSIA - with a market share of 13.1%.
