Wholesale beef prices were mixed again in Friday’s USDA daily report , with the spread between Choice and Select widening to $22.72. Choice was up $1.90 to $364.22, while Select fell 87 cents to $340.50. The USDA estimated cattle slaughter last week at 535,000 HEAD, down 14,000 head from the previous week and 57,526 head fewer than a year ago.
