Average broiler prices in the US market as of October 1, 2021 showed mixed trends. The average cost of broilers in August 2021 was 104.8 cents/lb (-0.7% m/m, +58.6% y/y), with total sales of about 44,495 thousand pounds (+5.5% m/m) , +27% per year).
In regional markets, prices for poultry of all categories fell, with the largest decline in the cost of birds weighing 3.51 pounds and more (-5.43 $).
Broiler slaughter continued to perform well with an increase of 4%; accordingly, the production figures for the production of chicken MEAT also increased by 4%. Turkey slaughter also increased, although there was a 1% decrease in August and a 9% decline in July compared to the previous year.
