In total, 5.5 million eggs arrived from Azerbaijan to Russia: in January 2024 - 4.2 million pieces, in December 2023 - 1.2 million pieces.

The first batch of Azerbaijani table eggs was brought to RUSSIA on December 19, 2023 through the Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint.

The decision to open the Russian market for the import of food eggs from Azerbaijan was made in November 2023 based on the results of negotiations between the HEAD of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR Sergei Dankvert and the Chairman of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan Goshgar Tahmazli during the visit of the head of the Russian department to the republic.

In January of this year, 5.6 million pieces of edible eggs were imported from Turkey to the country, while a shipment weighing 51.9 tons (885.6 thousand pieces) first arrived at the port of Novorossiysk on January 27.

The possibility of importing these products from a number of Turkish enterprises was approved by Rosselkhoznadzor from November 23, 2023. The first batch of eggs from Turkey arrived in Russia on January 3, 2024 through the Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint.

At the same time, Belarus remains a stable supplier of edible eggs to Russia. According to FSIS “Argus”, over the past four years, an average of more than 630 million pieces of edible eggs per year have entered the Russian market.

In January 2024, the Republic supplied 69 million eggs to Russia, which is 1.7 times more than in the same period last year (40.4 million).

In January 2024, 78.9 million units were imported into the domestic market. eggs from Belarus, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Control and surveillance measures were carried out in relation to all shipped products. As part of the inspection, inspectors carried out a documentary check, a comparison with the labeling on the packaging, and also carried out sampling to ensure the quality and safety of products of animal origin.

Based on the results of the inspection, a decision was made to allow the import of eggs for further sale in Russia; the received products meet the requirements of Russia.
