Weekly deflation in RUSSIA from July 9 to 15 accelerated to 0.17% after 0.03% a week earlier, since the beginning of the year, consumer prices rose by 11.41%, according to Rosstat.

"For the period from July 9 to July 15, 2022, the consumer price index, according to Rosstat, amounted to 99.83%, from the beginning of July - 100.00%, from the beginning of the year - 111.41% (for reference: July 2021 - 100, 31%, since the beginning of the year - 104.51%)," the report says.

According to the statistical office, fruit and vegetable prices fell by an average of 3.4%, including beets - by 8.8%, potatoes - by 8.5%, cabbage - by 8%, bananas - 3.1%, tomatoes - 2.3%, carrots - 2.2%, apples - 1.6%, cucumbers - 1.2%. At the same time, onion prices rose by 0.3%.

Last week, the most expensive product (excluding fruit and vegetables) was canned vegetables for baby food - their prices increased by an average of 0.47%. Among other leaders of price growth last week: margarine (+0.33%), chocolates (+0.18%), SALT and pork (+0.17%), canned fruits and berries and MEAT for baby food ( +0.12%), biscuits (+0.1%), as well as rye bread, rice and MILK powder.

Price reduction occurred for 22 product items. This week, eggs became the cheapest commodity - their prices fell by 1.64%. In second place is SUGAR, which held the lead for several weeks in a row, it fell by 0.66%. In addition, prices for buckwheat continued to decline (by 0.62%). Also cheeses, sausages, sausages, sunflower oil, millet, chicken meat, wheat FLOUR, semi-smoked and boiled-smoked sausages, fish, milk , cottage cheese, lamb, butter, sour cream and vermicelli.
