For the period from January to March of this year, the volume of supplies of poultry MEAT from RUSSIA to other countries increased by 0.5 times compared to last year's figure for the same period, said Sergey Lakhtyukhov, DIRECTOR General of the National Poultry Union.
If in the period 2020-2021 most of the exports - about 50% - came from CHINA , then this year the situation has changed. China now accounts for only 30% of total exports. The rest is accounted for by the Persian Gulf countries, Southeast Asia and Africa, Lakhtyukhov said. He also noted that the industry occupies a highly competitive position in the global market, despite the logistical problems that have arisen.
However, there are still risks for the industry, the HEAD of the industry association noted. For example, the strengthening of the ruble is not a positive factor for exporters. In addition, in the current situation in Russia, industry representatives fear a decrease in the purchasing power of Russians.
