In the Russian-Chinese commercial and industrial park in the city of Shenyang, a food production zone has been operating since February 2023, Russian Consul General in Shenyang Sergey Chernenko told TASS. In the message, the consul explained that enterprises in this zone will process and sell products imported from RUSSIA, including a variety of sweets, MILK powder , sausages and other products.

According to the consul, in the two months since the beginning of the year, representatives of more than 20 Russian companies have arrived in CHINA to register their business in this zone. Among them are both small regional companies and large, well-known throughout Russia and beyond. For the time being, most companies intend to import products from Russia for sale, but the zone in the commercial and industrial park opens up great opportunities for processing, Sergei Chernenko noted.

At the same time, settlements between the parties can be made both in rubles and in yuan, depending on the needs of the companies, the consul specified. The use of national currencies confirms that the two countries interact deeply in the financial sphere.

Recall that at the end of 2022,  Russia exported to China more than a third more agricultural products than in 2021. In financial terms, the volume of exports increased even more, by 44%. According to the FCS, China is the number one buyer of Russian honey and linseed oil, as well as a leading importer of many other commodities.
