The Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZG" under ROSSELKHOZNADZOR is monitoring the spread of the H5 virus subtype among cattle in RUSSIA. During the work, covering 165 farms from 40 regions, no positive cases of the virus were detected, which indicates the absence of its circulation in the country. In order to prevent the spread of infection, similar studies are planned for this year.

The World Organisation for Animal HEALTH calls on veterinary services in all countries to closely monitor the spread of the H5N1 virus among mammals and take measures for rapid response.
