High alert for ASF outbreak maintained in eight districts of Udmurtia

The news portal Udm-Info reports that eight districts of Udmurtia maintain a high alert regime for the possible spread of African swine fever.

The Republican Ministry of Agriculture and Food addressed farmers with a warning and a request not to purchase pigs without veterinary accompanying documents and not to import pig products from other regions.

In connection with the spread of ASF in other regions of the federation, since the fall of 2020, weekly meetings have been held in Udmurtia on the prevention of the spread of zoonosis. The danger of introducing the ASF virus into the territory remains, therefore, a high alert regime has been introduced in eight. Retail outlets selling MEAT products, pig-breeding enterprises, and private farmsteads are under control. All pigs are transferred to bezgulny content. The veterinary service monitors the activities of hunting farms where wild boars are hunted.
