The Novo-Baryshevskaya poultry farm will switch to waste-free production from 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture reports. Last year, the plant opened a shop for processing bird droppings into fertilizer. The project performed well, so in 2023 the plant plans to increase the capacity for processing litter, the department said in a statement.
Poultry manure is a significant cost item for many poultry farms and poultry farms, as this type of waste has strict storage and disposal requirements, experts say. At the same time, manure is traditionally used as a fertilizer - environmentally friendly and, moreover, does not have such a pronounced smell as manure. At the Novo-Baryshevskaya poultry farm, manure is processed according to the Japanese technology of accelerated fermentation.
In 2023, the poultry farm plans to build another plant for processing manure into fertilizer, with a capacity of 10,000 tons, the ministry said in a statement. In total, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2022, the poultry farm produced 21,000 tons of poultry MEAT, over 8,000 tons of semi-finished products and sausages, and almost 350 million eggs.
