MEAT production in the Russian Federation in January-May 2022 increased by 7.1% compared to the same period last year and reached 1.3 million tons, including 1.2 million tons of pork. This is stated in the materials of Rosstat.
"Meat of cattle, pork, lamb, goat meat, horse meat and other animals in May 2022 produced 274.9 thousand tons, which is more than in May 2021 and April 2022, by 6.1% and by 1 2%, respectively. Production in January-May 2022 increased by 7.1% compared to January-May 2021, amounting to 1.3 million tons," the ministry said.
According to the Federal State Statistics Service, the production of steam, chilled or chilled pork in May amounted to 252.4 thousand tons, which is 7% more than in May 2021, and 1.7% more than in April 2022. In January-May, the production of steam, chilled or chilled pork increased by 7% compared to the same period in 2021, amounting to 1.2 million tons.
288.3 thousand tons of chilled poultry meat were produced, which is 0.9% and 3.5% more than in May 2021 and April 2022, respectively. In January - May 2022, the production of chilled poultry meat increased by 2.3% compared to the same period in 2021, amounting to 1.4 million tons.

According to the ministry, 141.6 thousand tons of boiled sausages were produced in May, which is more than in May 2021 and April 2022 by 0.3% and 6%, respectively. In January - May 2022, 645.1 thousand tons of boiled sausages were manufactured, which is 1.1% less than in the same period in 2021.
365.4 thousand tons of meat and meat-containing semi-finished products, chilled or frozen, were produced, which is 1.5% less than in May 2021, but 1.8% more than in April 2022. In five months, they produced 1.8 million tons, which is 0.7% less than in January-May 2021.
Fish products
According to Rosstat, 304.5 tons of fresh or chilled fish fillets were released in May, which is 13.1% more than in May 2021, but 7.7% less than in April 2022. The growth in fish fillet production in the first five months of 2022 compared to January-May 2021 amounted to 32.9%.
11.8 thousand tons of fish ice cream fillets were produced, which is 12% higher than in May 2021, but two times lower than in April 2022. In January - May, the production of frozen fish fillets increased by 39.5% compared to the same period in 2021. Frozen fish in May 2022 produced 177.2 thousand tons. This is 16% more than in May 2021, but 28.3% less than in April 2022. In January - May 2022, 1.1 million tons of frozen fish were produced, which is 3.2% less than in the same period in 2021.
According to Rosstat, 46 million cans of canned fish were produced in May, which is 6.8% more than in May 2021, but 5.1% less than in April 2022. The growth in the production of canned fish in January-May compared to the same period in 2021 amounted to 4.1%.
19.8 million conditional cans of fish preserves were produced, which is 7% and 10.8% less than in May 2021 and April 2022, respectively. For the five months of 2022, 8% less fish preserves were produced than for the same period in 2021.
Egg
