This market was previously closed to Chile, but thanks to negotiations between the HEALTH services of the countries concerned, the barriers to EXPORT were removed. Health and safety requirements were established for products destined for this market, and the Chilean animal health certificate was approved by the National Animal Health and Quality Service (Senacsa) of Paraguay.

The document, issued by SAG, guarantees and declares compliance with national and destination country regulations. The agency noted that this opening joins a number of markets that are also supported by the success of the campaign against highly pathogenic avian influenza.

it was also added that all these efforts led to the country declaring itself free of the disease in August 2023, leading to its recognition by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WHO) in September of the same year.

Finally, SAG National DIRECTOR José Guajardo stated: “I want to highlight the great work done by SAG and the National Animal Health and Quality Service of Paraguay (Senacsa), which allows our country to send poultry products to this country today.”
