Since the beginning of 2021, about 4.5 million tons of livestock products have been checked with the help of veterinary and sanitary examination at fairs, in shopping centers and other facilities in the Moscow region, the press service of the Ministry and Agriculture of the region reports.
“Based on the results of the audit, 40.5 thousand tons of low-quality and dangerous animal products and 13.4 tons of plant products were not allowed to be sold without restrictions,” said Sergey Voskresensky, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.
Such inspections are carried out by veterinary specialists of the Territorial Veterinary Administration No. 1-5 subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region.
“The state veterinary laboratories have examined more than 14.8 thousand samples of food products. Including 770 samples of MILK and dairy products; 2.7 thousand samples of MEAT and meat products; 1.2 thousand samples of fish and seafood and 9.9 thousand samples of other products,” Voskresensky said.
During the examination, specialists check the temperature regime of the products sold, assess the condition of trading places, study documents that contain confirmation of the origin and safety of products through the FSIS "Mercury".
