The HEAD of the Tambov region, Alexander Nikitin, noted that the main role in the development of the food and processing industry in the region is played by a stable local raw material base. In the midst of the pandemic, the region's economy managed to strengthen significantly.
“In the first five months of 2021, the index of food production increased by two percent in the Tambov region. In January-May, food industry enterprises shipped goods of their own production, as well as completed work worth more than 52.4 billion rubles, ”the regional agriculture department said in a statement.
The largest growth was shown by flour-grinding production - FLOUR was produced by almost 22% more than in the same period last year. The production of MEAT semi-finished products and meat increased by 16-20%. 13% more cheese began to be produced in the region. Growth in the production of confectionery products amounted to 12%, butter - 8%. Such data is provided by the department.
