Weekly inflation in Russia remains at 0.1% for the second week in a row

Inflation in RUSSIA for the period from 12 to 17 May amounted to 0.1%, according to Rosstat.

A week earlier, inflation in Russia was also at the level of 0.1%.

Since the beginning of May, consumer prices have risen by 0.3%, since the beginning of the year - by 3.1%. In annual terms, inflation as of May 17, 2021 (according to calculations using average daily data for this and last year for similar dates) was 5.76%.

During the reporting week, among food products, the most expensive rose was cabbage - by 4.4%, carrots - by 3.4%, onions - by 3.1%.

Chicken eggs fell in price by 1.4% on average across the country, including in 26 regions of the Russian Federation - by 0.1-1.9%, in 26 regions - by 2-4.9%, in 7 regions - by 5-12 ,five%. In five regions, chicken egg prices did not change. In 21 regions, prices increased by 0.1-1.1%.

Rosstat also reported that over the period from May 12 to May 17, 2021, prices increased: for buckwheat - by 0.6%, lamb - by 0.5%, margarine, black tea - by 0.4%, pork , frozen fish, butter, millet, soft cookies and sweets, glazed with chocolate - by 0.3%, beef, sausages, sausages - by 0.2%, semi-smoked and boiled-smoked sausage, sterilized MILK , sour cream, dry milk mixtures for baby food, rye bread, pasta, SALT, caramel, lunches in canteens, cafes, snack bars (except canteens in organizations) - by 0.1%.

Prices for sunflower oil on average in Russia increased by 0.3%. In 16 subjects of the Russian Federation, prices increased by 0.1-0.3%, in 24 subjects - by 0.4-0.9%, in 10 subjects - by 1.0-2.3%. Prices have not changed in 21 regions. In 14 subjects, prices decreased by 0.1-2%.

According to the agency, the price of chicken MEAT on average in the country rose by 0.2%, including in 19 regions of the Russian Federation - by 0.1-0.2%, in 18 regions - by 0.3-0.9%, in 10 subjects - by 1.0-2.8%. In 12 subjects, prices have not changed. In 22 subjects, prices for chicken meat decreased by 0.1-0.9%, in four subjects - by 1.0-2%. Prices for granulated SUGAR on average in Russia have not changed, while in 16 subjects of the Russian Federation prices increased by 0.1-0.4%, in 12 subjects - by 0.5-1.3%. Prices have not changed in 40 subjects. In 17 subjects, prices for granulated sugar decreased by 0.1-0.8%.

Prices for fruits and vegetables increased by an average of 0.4%, including white cabbage - by 4.4%, carrots - by 3.4%, onions - by 3.1%, potatoes - by 3%, apples - by 0.3%. Prices for cucumbers decreased by 4.6%, tomatoes - by 1.3%.

Weekly inflation in Russia slowed to 0.1%

Vodka fell in price by 0.2%, rice, canned fruits and berries for baby food - by 0.1%. Prices for wheat FLOUR, bread and bakery products from wheat flour of 1 and 2 grades, vermicelli, boiled sausage, canned meat, hard and soft rennet cheeses, pasteurized milk, fat cottage cheese, canned vegetables and meat for baby food have not changed.
