During the workshop "Export certification of agricultural products according to Halal rules", HEAD of the development and EXPORT support department of PJSC "Cherkizovo Group" Natalia Bartnovskaya said that the expansion of production and export of halal products is the basis of the company's strategy in 2022, and for this, the holding has set The goal is to obtain appropriate certification for five enterprises.
The event was organized by the Federal Center "Agroexport" together with MGIMO.
The speaker said that Cherkizovo Group, the largest producer of MEAT and animal feed, is developing sales channels, including paying special attention to the export of halal products. One of the most important supply regions is the countries of the Persian Gulf, North Africa and the countries of Southeast Asia, which are showing increasing interest in Russian products, including halal ones.
The company has the opportunity to conduct research on the basis of its own European-level laboratory - this is the only innovative laboratory complex in RUSSIA where all the company's food products are tested. Also, testing and testing of products for compliance with the requirements of foreign countries is carried out here, which allows you to quickly control product quality and minimize risks during delivery.
Among the halal products produced, the expert named poultry and turkey meat. At the end of 2021, Cherkizovo Group produced more than 610 thousand tons of poultry meat (first place in the Russian Federation) and over 64 thousand tons of turkey meat (second place).
- We plan to increase production and export volumes, primarily halal products to the Persian Gulf countries, - said Natalya Bartnovskaya. - Vertical integration makes it possible to control the quality of our products at all stages - from growing animal feed to the counter, which is of great importance for the production of halal products. In poultry production, we are switching completely to manual slaughter, refusing gas stunning, which is unacceptable by Halal standards. To do this, we will carry out a small reconstruction.
Cherkizovo Group is actively diversifying sales markets, including markets for halal products. So, in 2021, the volume of exports by 2020 increased by 8% and amounted to 89 thousand tons of meat products. Revenue for the same period increased by 28% and reached 12.8 billion rubles. As the speaker explained, export is not only a growing sales channel, but also a very promising direction in terms of high margin attractiveness. In 2021, the company began regular shipments of Halal products to Saudi Arabia, and plans to increase shipments this year.
- Expansion of production and export of halal products is one of the strategic goals of Cherkizovo in 2022, - summed up the head. - Cherkizovo can call 2022 the year of certification of the enterprise according to Halal standards. This year we have planned the certification of five enterprises and have practically fulfilled this plan. In May, the site "Chicken Kingdom Lisko" was certified according to Halal GSO standards, in June - the site "Krasnobor". Compas-Foods, a manufacturer of finished chicken products, has also been certified. The Tambov Turkey site will be certified according to GSO Halal standards in the second half of 2022, and deliveries to the Gulf countries will begin from there.
