Beef production has increased in the Stavropol Territory

In recent years, the attractiveness of beef cattle breeding has significantly increased in the Stavropol Territory. From 2018 to 2020, 1.8 billion rubles were invested in beef production in the region. During this time, farmers purchased 6.4 thousand heads of livestock and created 144 jobs.

The state allocated 730 million rubles of subsidies for the development of the sub-sector, which made it possible to ensure a 23% increase in beef production.

“Sufficiently large investment projects are being implemented on the territory of the region in the direction of beef cattle breeding. For example, Stavropolskaya beef LLC in the Ipatovsky district expects to keep 16.3 thousand heads of cattle. Agrofirm "Kits" from the Neftekumsky district plans to keep 2 thousand heads of cattle. These and other projects will increase the growth of beef production in agricultural organizations in the region,” said Alexei Krisan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.

In the peasant (farmer) farms of the region, there is also a positive trend in the production of beef. This is facilitated by state support measures for livestock breeders in the form of grants for small forms of farming, which are received by farmers of the Stavropol Territory for the development of family farms.

“Today, grant support for K(F)X is one of the effective mechanisms for the development of agribusiness. Thanks to this, additional jobs are created, regular payments are made to the budget, and the volume of MEAT production is growing. Over the past three years, 56 grants worth 436 million rubles have been issued to farmers to support beef production alone. This will increase beef production in the K(F)X region by 19% and increase this figure by 2024 to 9.2 thousand tons in farms,” said Vladimir Sitnikov, HEAD of the regional agricultural department.

However, getting a grant to set up a livestock farm is only half the battle. The main thing for farmers is to productively manage the amount received.

This task was effectively handled by three individual entrepreneurs from the Grachevsky District, who combined their efforts in one large project. In 2019, Andrey Nagorny, Ivan Avdeev and Sergey Pogozhev received a grant for the development of livestock breeding in the amount of 30 million rubles and began to implement the project.

During this time, farmers have built four buildings for keeping animals: one for cows and young animals and three for fattening animals, purchased a tractor, a loader and two trucks. At the breeding farm "Druzhba" of the Apanasenkovsky district, a livestock of cattle of the Kalmyk meat breed was purchased. At present, the herd has been brought to 800 heads of cattle, including 180 cows, and the entire volume of meat products is sold through two meat processing plants: Mineralovodsky and Razvilensky.

“The farm has great potential for further development. Thanks to the painstaking work of the managers and staff of the enterprise, in the first half of the year alone, the farm managed to produce about 114 tons of high-quality beef. And I want to say that this meat is of a completely different quality: both in taste and nutritional value. With a balanced diet, the average daily weight gain in young livestock reaches more than a kilogram here, ”said the acting head. Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Sitnikov.

That is why the heads of K(F)X Andrey Nagorny, Ivan Avdeev and Sergey Pogozhev are striving to expand production and set themselves ambitious goals: to increase the total livestock to 1200 head of cattle in 2022 and, in particular, 250 cows, as well as to establish partnership with even more implementers.

And this fact will be taken into account when preparing the monthly analytical report Meatinfo.ru
