Acting spoke about the development of Kazakhstani MEAT production. Deputy Chairman of the Board of NCE "Atameken" Yerbol Yeseneev.

According to him, not much meat is produced in Kazakhstan, so there is competition in the local market. But if you create favorable conditions for animal husbandry, then it is even possible to reduce its cost. Yerbol Yeseneev noted: the state has a great potential to increase quality meat in the country.

Now we produce, unfortunately, not so much meat, so there is some competition in the local market. And now we eat meat for four to five dollars. In the same Mongolia, where per capita there are much more, almost 20 times more livestock than ours, and, naturally, the price of meat is even cheaper. The cheapest meat in the world is red lamb, horse meat, beef in Mongolia, which costs only three dollars. This, according to our money, is somewhere around 1,400-1,500 tenge, - Yeseneev explained.

In general, Kazakhstan produces about 1.2-1.3 million tons of meat. In addition, with consumption in the region of 450 thousand tons of poultry meat, almost 70% is produced by domestic producers.

Unfortunately, we import about 110 thousand tons in the form of legs. This is very cheap, low-quality meat that comes to us from America. We actually fill this niche with our production. We have several investment projects. In the near future, somewhere in the horizon of five or six years, we will be able to fully provide ourselves with our white meat, - the Atameken representative emphasized.

He also said that meat prices are regulated by the law of the market. However, to reduce the price, you need to produce it as much as possible and give an opportunity to those niches that are more or less stable. That is, the laws of the market work here: the more production, the lower the price.

A good example, maybe not from the livestock industry, but consumers have noticed that we have had a stable price for apples lately. All thanks to reproduction. We produce more. We analyzed and over the past 10 years the cost of apples has increased from 310 to 450 tenge only because we produce much more than we need. More precisely, we produce as much as we need in the country. Exactly the same answer we have for meat. We must produce it as much as possible and give an opportunity to those niches that are more or less stable, - summed up Yerbol Yeseneev.
