Now the situation with brucellosis in the country is regulated by veterinary regulations adopted in 2020 (Order of the Ministry of Agriculture dated September 8, 2020 No. 533).

“However, in the process of law enforcement practice of the rules on brucellosis, difficulties arose in relation to diagnostic tests of animals for brucellosis, carried out both during preventive studies and during the period of measures to eliminate the focus of brucellosis, vaccination in regions free and unfavorable for brucellosis,” the statement says . explanatory note to the project.

The new veterinary rules propose to clarify the requirements for conducting routine serological tests for brucellosis. Research is being clarifiedby animal groups and taking into account regionalization. For example, heifers of breeding age, heifers, and dairy cows in regions with the status “safe without vaccination” must be tested for brucellosis once a year. And the breeding stock in farms supplying MILK to retail markets is examined 2 times a year, with an interval of at least 180 calendar days.

In addition, the draft new veterinary rules expand the grounds for suspicion of the disease. Cases of diagnosis of brucellosis are being clarified.

In addition, requirements have been established for milk supplied to retail markets, and the procedure for using products obtained from sick and healthy animals. it is also stated under what conditions milk obtained from healthy animals (with the exception of sheep and goats) from an epizootic outbreak can be sent to a milk processing plant.

It is planned that the new veterinary rules will come into force on March 1, 2024 and will be in force until March 1, 2030.
