The Russian government has given the Ministry of Agriculture the authority to check the intended use of imported MEAT, which will be imported in the coming year without paying customs duties. Specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture will have to confirm or deny that the “preferential” meat has actually been processed and meat products are made from it.
Recall that recently the Russian authorities decided to import a certain amount of beef and pork without imposing a customs duty on it. Over the next year, under such conditions, it will be possible to import up to 200,000 tons and up to 100,000 tons of frozen pork.
Meanwhile, in the last week of November, there was a collapse in prices for live pigs and half carcasses from producers. Such data came from the National Union of Pig Breeders. Thus, in the Central Federal District, pork in live weight fell from 118.61 rubles to 104.3 rubles per kilogram, half carcasses - from 172.14 to 154.03. Experts do not rule out that a sharp drop in prices for live pigs and pork carcasses will continue at least this week. The cost may fall to 95 and 141 rubles per kilogram.
The Ministry of Agriculture believes that prices are falling due to the restoration of production in the poultry and pig industries. According to the agency, as of November 24, the price of pork from producers fell by 2.5 percent over the week, chicken - by 0.7, mutton, on the contrary, rose by 0.1, the cost of beef remained the same.
