From next year to 2030, the development of the agrarian and fisheries complex of RUSSIA will require an additional at least 360 billion rubles a year, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Elena Fastova, deputy HEAD of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

She spoke about this at a meeting of the council on agro-industrial complex and environmental management in the Federation Council. A new draft strategy for the above-named industries was discussed there. According to the deputy minister, in general, the annual amount should be at least 900 billion rubles. The forecast need for additional financing in the next year will be 301.7 billion, in the next two - 316.6 and 365.8 billion, in 2026, 2027 and 2028 - 379.9, 377.5 and 377.6 and in the last two - 382.9 and 387 billion respectively. This is several times more than the declared amount.

The new strategy ideally involves the growth of agricultural production by at least three percent per year, the intensification of the industry, the development of agricultural exports and import substitution of important types of agricultural products and foodstuffs. This will take into account three parameters - the index of agricultural production, the level of application of mineral fertilizers per hectare and the creation of a single digital platform for the main sub-sectors of the agro-industrial complex and for aquaculture. The increase in the value of agricultural products over the next seven years, according to forecasts, will amount to 3.9 trillion rubles. For these purposes, it will be necessary to expand funding not only for the main program, but also for the program for the effective involvement of land in agricultural turnover, Fastova noted.

Senators have already supported the new strategy. It is also approved by the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rosstat, the Ministry of Digital Development and the Ministry of Education and Science. Some disagreements, according to the deputy minister, remained with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance. In particular, the first of the ministries notes a large economic uncertainty in the short and medium term, due to which the real growth in production may not correspond to the declared one. In the second, they generally believe that additional funding is not required.
