The Malaysian authorities may resume the process of certification of MEAT products supplied from RUSSIA. This was reported in ROSSELKHOZNADZOR.
This issue was discussed during the business mission of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture to the Asian country. The Rosselkhoznadzor explained that the EXPORT of all types of meat products there is possible only if there is a certificate issued by the Russian halal certification body. In this case, the document must be accredited by the Malaysian Halal Products Development Corporation.
The department recalled that the procedure for issuing a certificate was repeatedly postponed due to the CORONAVIRUS. But, according to him, it will resume in the near future. The decision to inspect Russian meat enterprises can be made before November this year. In this regard, it was proposed to coordinate the work of veterinary services and the visit of specialists for the certification of halal products. In the near future, the parties are planning to start developing veterinary certificates that meet the recommendations of the International Organization for the Protection of Animal HEALTH, as well as assessing the dossiers of enterprises and preparing an inspection of Russian enterprises. In addition, the Russian side expects the recognition of the regionalization of the Russian Federation on avian influenza and African swine fever. Recall that regionalization is a guarantee of the supply of products only from safe regions with a normal epizootic disease situation. Most often, this procedure is applied to livestock products. This measure helps to increase the confidence of importers.
Akma Binti Nga Hamid, HEAD of the Veterinary Department of the Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture, noted that the coordinated work of the veterinary services of both countries made it possible to achieve significant progress in assessing risks and discussing the conditions for the supply of Russian beef, dairy products and pet food.
