On February 10, Governor Vadim Shumkov held a working meeting with the president of one of the largest agro-industrial holdings in RUSSIA, the press service of the Governor of the Kurgan Region reports.
By videoconference, the parties discussed options for joint activities in the development of beef cattle breeding in the Kurgan region. They also touched upon the issues of including the enterprises of the region in the Miratorg supply chain and other opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The enterprise is recognized as the leader in the production of pork and beef in the country and is among the top 10 largest poultry MEAT producers. Its products are in demand on world markets and in popular retail chains in the country. The holding has the world's largest number of elite breeds of cattle and intends to increase it further.
For his part, Vadim Shumkov spoke about the possibilities of the Kurgan region in the field of animal husbandry:
- Over the past 3 years, the number of beef cattle in the region has increased by more than 43%. We have launched several programs to support the meat sector, both for private household plots and for relatively large farms, we subsidize the costs of creating farms. We provide farmland up to 100 hectares free of charge, subject to the creation of several jobs.
Also, the HEAD of the region suggested, as an option for cooperation, the fattening of young animals for the holding. Shumkov's interlocutor, Viktor Linnik, showed interest in this topic. It is only necessary to solve a number of issues at the level of federal regulation. The Department of Agro-Industrial Complex of the Trans-Urals was instructed to identify potential farms that will be able to grow animals of the required characteristics in accordance with all standards.
For his part, the president of the agricultural holding offered to cooperate in improving the genetics of cattle - to help with insemination to improve the genetic potential of animals.
The proposals voiced during the meeting, including those on investment projects, will be seriously analyzed. It is necessary to determine their payback and effectiveness. The parties agreed on further meetings.
